I have been inside a lot lately. I injured my toe and its super hard to walk so I've been sitting and thinking and letting myself be bored. Its kind of nice. I miss being a kid and being really bored with nothing to do, but it was ok because you didn't have any responsibilities to think about.

s t r e e t s
I have been doing a lot of walking around Portland lately, here are some pictures from my phone of things I see .. Walking makes me rather contemplative and seeing so much beauty in nature reminds me to remember what's important.

n e w
I have been lucky enough to move into a place that is already beautifully decorated..
Many months of living without a room of my own has taught me some valuable lessons, and how to appreciate the space I have.
Its almost like I have forgotten how to be alone. I need to regather myself and catch up with my thoughts, start to draw and write and sing again.

l i f e
Oh hello,
I have been so distracted by life that I forgot about my dear blog here.
Life has been interesting in Portland, this place is a completely different world to where I come from.
I miss my friends and family so much.
I wish teleportation existed.
I am getting used to $3 movies and $1 beers and don't know how I will ever live in Sydney again.
I am being challenged everyday to just be o.k with certain things.
I am stretching myself.
I used to say I hated summer but now I am overjoyed with every hint of Spring in the air.
Portland is too cold. But it is very beautiful.
Soon flowers will be absolutely everywhere.
I know that I am changing in a deep, deep place, and hopefully I am growing up too. I wonder what this year will look like in hindsight. I know it will mean a lot to me.

25 before 25
I have been inspired by bloggers before me to make a list of goals for the year ahead.
2012 is going to be a crazy year in my life, and a year like no other before it.
I will be living in America for the whole of 2012 and saying goodbye to life in Sydney.
I feel like starting this year in a new country and building my life from scratch will inspire me to do things I have never tried or things I have pushed aside but are really important to me.
I have until January 15th 2013 to hopefully complete the things on this list! Some are easy but I know others will be trickier.. wish me luck! I'll keep you up to date with my progress...
Here goes:
join a house in portland- exhibit my art
- go to mexico
- go camping in oregon
- go to an american music festival
- volunteer somewhere
- take photos of a wedding/event
- read the entire diaries of andy warhol
- start a band / write great songs
- do a photoshoot with dad
join a church- write a letter to my mother, and one to my father
- go to brooklyn
- go to austin
- go to the red velvet shop
- make an artwork from wool
develop my holgamake new american friends all the time- fill my etsy store with vintage things
- take a yoga class
do something new with my hair- learn how to cook a new meal
write snail mail to my friends- join a book club
- meet some other bloggers
So that's my list.. I will probably change it later because I'm sure I am forgetting something important..
Thanks for reading!

w i n t e r
Hello there,
Well I am currently in the wintry city of Spokane, Washington spending time with my Dad and just generally being cold. I am not used to this weather at all but its nice to have a change from the Sydney climate.
I have been to a few op-shops in search of the perfect vintage winter coat and have bought a couple of items to keep me warm for the time being..
Here are some coats I have been lusting after on the interwebs:

porch & parlour

Porch & Parlour is a cute little coffee shop in North Bondi that I have meaning to go to for ages. I was so excited to finally go there and see the extreme cuteness that is their decor. There are two parts, a cafe and a clothing store next door. Check it out if you're in Sydney :)
